Bill Joss - Chairman & Chief Executive
A 30 year international career in IT and Technology has led to Senior Executive roles in private and public companies including Case Communications, Thorn EMI, Gandalf Technologies and Compel Group. In recent years as Chairman/CEO, often acting for Institutional Investors, Bill has focussed on turnaround and rapid growth opportunities in software, outsourcing and hardware businesses including Hypertec Ltd, Evesham Technology Group, IDS Automotive Systems Pty and Equisys plc.
A Fellow of the Institute of Directors and of the Royal Society for the Arts and Manufactures, he holds an Honorary Fellowship from Oxford Brookes University.
Barbara Spanjers – Investor/Director and Company Secretary
Barbara studied Business at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada and is also an honours graduate of the Canadian Securities Institute. Barbara was President and COO of WHJ Holding Ltd, a private Canadian investment firm, for several years prior to coming to the UK. She now focuses on personal investments.
Henry Southworth – Investor/Director
Gaining his BA, MA and PhD at Cambridge, Henry then became a lecturer in Management Finance at the University of Birmingham. Latterly, as a businessman-entrepreneur, he has invested in a number of high-tech start-up companies like Applied Biometrics, although his principal business interests remain centred on property and tourism. As a specialist in internet-based businesses, Henry’s team has also developed the Applied Biometrics website.
Ray Gillard – Investor/Director
As Founder of Prime plc Ray played a major part in developing the company from a start up in 1993 to a major plc by 2006, responsible for client liaison and service planning for over 30 primary care centres including the largest primary care developments in both England and Scotland. Prior to developing Prime plc, Ray had been Chief Executive of the Worcester NHS Trust and was lead business manager for the development of the new Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
John Topping – Chief Advisor, IP and Business Development
John is the inventor of the Sequential Biometrics and Secure Application Switching Patents and is co-inventor of the Automatic Performance Calibration Patent. John is working on the submission of several new biometric patents for inclusion in the company portfolio. Previously John had been in the IT security business for 20 years and, before that, in international IT sales and marketing for 15 years.
Paul Chesterton – Senior Software Architect
Paul is an experienced IT developer and was previously the lead technical architect and developer of biometric systems at Senselect Ltd. In this role he developed models and products incorporating the novel biometric sequencing and switching concepts being used at Applied Biometrics.
